St. Anne

St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Chertsey

COR ET LUMEN CHRISTI

We are a Catholic community. Some members live residentially, others in their own homes. We seek to marry a deep life of prayer with a variety of active ministries. These include the "YES!" celebrations (3rd Wednesday of every month), Night of Light (an initiative to reclaim Halloween for Christianity), teaching days & weekends plus training schools in the charismatic gifts, prayer, discernment and evangelisation as well as healing and prophetic ministry. Some of our ministries take us around the country and abroad. We are contemplative and charismatic with a Eucharistic heart.

CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP

We are a group of about 20 which originated in 1995 out of a Bible/Faith sharing group whose members received huge blessings at the annual New Dawn conference at Walsingham. We meet in the Savio Centre on Monday nights at 8.00 pm for praise, teaching, exercise of the Charisms and intercessory prayer.

HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY GROUP

Members of the parish are part of a chaplaincy team of volunteers who visit patients in St Peter’s Hospital. Patients in the hospital requiring the services of a Priest should ask the ward sister. Each ward has the number of the pager carried by the duty priest.

MUSIC at St. Anne’s

We have a music group which meets every Monday fortnight from 7.00 – 8.00 p.m. in the Church, to practice singing and instrumental pieces for the Sunday liturgy and for special liturgies at Christmas, Easter, Pentecost and and other festive occasions. You don’t have to be an expert to come along, just eager to serve the Lord in song. All are welcome. We have three regular keyboard players who tend to be the “leaders” plus a couple of guitars, at least three flutes and of course, voices. Most of our effort goes into preparation for the 10.30 a.m. Sunday Mass but we also have a solo organ to lead the congregation at the 8.30 a.m. Mass. Sadly the 6.30. p.m. vigil Mass on Saturdays is often celebrated without music, but this could change. It takes just one volunteer leader to get things started. As St Augustine said, when we pray in song, we pray twice.
